The Daily Show’s YouTube channel is a powerhouse source for news and entertainment in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. The channel extends the reach and impact of the show's unique brand of satirical news and comedy, engaging a diverse audience that complements the show’s linear television viewership. 
Through its sharp, insightful commentary and humorous take on current events, the channel aims to inform and entertain while sparking meaningful discourse in uncertain times. 

Strategy

Offering a mix of full episodes, highlight clips, and exclusive original digital content, fans can access The Daily Show anytime, anywhere. This approach not only caters to the on-demand viewing habits of modern audiences but also fosters a sense of community among fans.
We strategically publish both long-form YouTube videos and short-form YouTube Shorts to drive growth and engagement. We leverage unique functionalities like YouTube Premieres to build anticipation, including a recent stunt for Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse: Rally Together. To engage with his fans during the stunt, Jordan Klepper joined the live chat and answered fans’ questions. 
The Daily Show team knows that much of our content is timely. We have a dedicated nightside social media team who prepares content so that some of the show is ready to be viewed early the next day, enabling fans to watch our incisive take on the news as they begin their mornings. Content continues to roll out throughout the day to align with our audience’s viewing habits and needs.

The Daily Show’s YouTube channel is a best-in-class digital experience, a standout amongst our competitive set. We are the #1 Most Watched Late Night Program across social (per SCR, Jan-Nov 18) and the #1 Most Watched Late Night YouTube Channel (per ListenFirst, Jan-Nov 18). 

Our YouTube channel is a meaningful contributor to the show’s distribution, global reach, and impact. As of November, the channel has received nearly one billion views and 39.2M engagements this year.
