Charming, inviting, elegant, comfortable and beautiful-these are the terms used by guests to describe the Sassafras Bed and Breakfast. After lengthy renovations the Bed and Breakfast debuted in 2004.

Antiques and reproduction furniture create a warm atmosphere inside while outside there are many large trees which add to the ambiance of this site. A young Sassafras tree is also located on the property.

Despite being built 114 years ago, time has been kind to this beautiful Queen Anne Victorian Home. There have been very few changes on the outside and those made on the inside have been done to retain the way the house looked decades ago. Throughout the past century this house played home to the Lester Family.

Levant Lester was a prominent attorney with offices in Buffalo and Lancaster. His wife Martha was a descendant of the Beckham's, one of the finest families to settle in Lancaster.
