Road
Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is a professional theatre company dedicated to
the development and production of new theatrical works by Western New York playwrights,
as well as presentations of esteemed modern dramas of outstanding literary merit. Our
mission is to tell stories which are important to our community, reflect our lives,
and reveal our common relationships and diverse humanity. We are committed to
engaging a new and youthful audience in the Western New York community that will
respond to a truthful and full-frontal presentation of our world in original and
imaginative ways. RLTP's
New Play Workshop is our training ground for future playwrights; it provides the
local theatre community and the world with the Ònext" generation of playwrights
from Western New York. Our American Masters Series brings nationally acclaimed
figures to Buffalo, inspiring our local artists and our theatre community on a
broader, national scale. The
Road Less Traveled Theater is the newest theatre in the theatre district. It is
located in Theater 4 of the Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre. To build it, all
but six of the rows of the still functioning movie theatre were removed to put
up a stage and a technician's booth. When RLTP is not in productions, Theatre
4 reverts to a cinema and retains its screening ability. The theatre can also
be rented out as a venue for your special event. For more information, contact
Scott Behrend at sbehrend@roadlesstraveledproductions.org.
The
Road Less Traveled Theatre is an intimate 90-seat theatre with a proscenium stage,
a technician's booth, full lighting and sound capabilities, and a backstage area. The
Road Less Traveled Theater was unveiled Friday, September 8th, 2006, with RLTP's
'06-'07 season premiere of THE DODO BIRD. Renovations were undertaken in July
and August of 2006 and were made possible by a generous grant from the Margaret
L. Wendt Foundation. RLTP
would also like to thank the Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre, the City of Buffalo,
and Buffalo Place, who all helped make the Road Less Traveled Theater a reality.
The
Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre is located between Washington Street and Main
Street in the downtown Theatre District. It is right between the Irish Classical
Theatre Company and the Bijou Grille, and directly across Main Street from Shea's
Performing Arts Center. 2007-2008
