The Railroad Museum of the Niagara Frontier is housed in and on the property surrounding
the former Erie Railroad freight house in North Tonawanda, NY. This 1922 vintage
building has been undergoing restoration since 1986. The
220-foot by 24-foot wide brick and frame structure is divided into three sections.
The south end contains a small lobby, a display room and a gift shop. The middle
section has display cases, with smaller railroad artifacts, the original scale
and some larger railroad artifacts including a baggage wagon and a handcar. The
north end of the building has a climate controlled archive room, and also serves
as the storage and work area. Tracks outside hold the equipment collection, including
two cabooses, and two industrial locomotives.
