Objectives

In 2023 we decided to build a more playful, thought-provoking, and welcoming social ecosystem centered around words and language. Our goal is to develop a community of language lovers, engage in culturally relevant moments, and share interesting (hopefully delightful) information that gives our fans a reason to follow. We measure brand love by:  

 

Strategy and Execution

As Twitter seemed to get more polarizing, we made an effort to be a positive account that was welcoming, inclusive, and interesting. 

To execute our goals we focused on: 

Our goal was to give our followers value that was authentically Merriam-Webster. We realize that Dictionaries provide a much needed role in our culture and we always want to be mindful and respectful of this responsibility. For the sake of brevity we’ve included more examples in our submission link. 

 

Results

We accomplished our goals for growth and inclusivity despite the platform trying its best to repel users. Our goal is to provide some nutrition in a sea of empty calories. 

While we usually stick to words, we still value the importance of numbers.
