Objective

Top legal and true crime network Law&Crime announces the first installment of a multi-part podcast deal with Wondery+, The Rise and Fall of Ruby Franke, hosted by Paula Barros of Cold Case Files. The podcast follows popular YouTube “mom-fluencer” Ruby Franke’s downward spiral, alongside business partner and “life coach” Jodi Hildebrandt, from internet star and admired homemaker to convicted child abuser in just a few short months.

Strategy

In the 7-episode series, listeners will explore the ins and outs of the Franke household, their hit YouTube channel “8 Passengers,” Ruby’s partnership with Jodi Hildebrandt and “ConneXions Classroom,” all culminating in a Utah courthouse where Franke and Hildebrandt face the long arm of the law. Through key interviews with followers, victims, family members, prosecutors and others close to the investigation, it attempts to answer the #1 question from Franke’s former fans - how could Ruby’s “no-nonsense” parenting style earn her millions of views on the internet, while also masking the torture and starvation of her own children when the cameras were off.
