The Presbyterian Society of Cayuga Creek, know now as the Lancaster Presbyterian
Church, was founded in 1818. The
sanctuary, the object of the tour, was built in 1832 and features the simple lines
of churches found in New England highlighted by rich oak woodwork. The
church bell, one of the last functioning "Adam Good Bells" in Western New York,
was mounted in the belfry in 1833 and continues to call the congregation to worship
every Sunday. |
