on 25 beautiful acres in Lockport, New York in Niagara County, the historic Kenan
Center is only a short drive from Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester and southern
Ontario. Named for its benefactor, William Rand Kenan, Jr., the Kenan Center serves
as a regional community center providing visitors and the community with arts,
education and recreation programs. Facilities
include a sports arena, a converted carriage house theater and community gathering
room, an education building, outdoor recreational fields, a playground and the
Kenan House, an 1800's Victorian mansion featuring a year-round art gallery and
formal gardens. Programs
include community education classes, a preschool and extensive recreation offerings.
Adult theater productions, along with the Family Performance Series, are presented
in the intimate Taylor Theater. The
Kenan Arena houses numerous special events, such as 100 American Craftsmen, throughout
