Objective

The main objective of our longform video – The Historic Rookie Season of Caitlin Clark – was to capture and convey the extraordinary journey of Caitlin’s rookie season in the WNBA. After joining the league as one of the most anticipated No. 1 picks in any sport in history and shattering all expectations for her rookie year, we had the incredible opportunity to put together a full story highlighting her achievements and impact throughout the year.

Strategy

Throughout the season, we knew we’d want to create an all-encompassing longform recap of Caitlin’s rookie season. From draft night through the final game of the season, we wanted to create a video fans could remember every incredible moment from her historic season.

We put together a plan to capture every moment possible from Caitlin’s rookie season – every practice, every game, every arrival, every moment with the fans. We were everywhere Caitlin was with a camera in hand to document the journey. When the season ended we coordinated time with our play-by-play announcer to help us narrate the story and make it cohesive, digestible and engaging for fans.

Results

Caitlin Clark contributed to the most-watched WNBA season in 20 years. She shattered nearly every record possible, and this video encapsulates everything she accomplished.

By itself, this video generated more than 593K views, 39K engagements & 1.1M impressions. It truly encapsulated the story of Caitlin’s rookie season, inspiring fans and elevating the moment.
