Rebecca Nunez

The MRN Agency

About

A first-generation Mexican American, Rebecca Núñez grew up the youngest of three with a dream to make her parents proud. Climbing the corporate ladder, she overcame systemic obstacles every step of the way. But when the pandemic hit and her position was impacted, Núñez felt like she was back to square one. Drawing on her wealth of marketing experience and a vision for a radical new approach to marketing, she founded The MRN Agency. With a 92% fail rate for female founders, the agency’s biggest accomplishment was surviving. The female- and minority-owned company has been living in the 8% ever since, expanding internationally and cultivating a 90% staff diversity and inclusion rate over the past four years. MRN is Rebecca’s revolutionary proposal; an agency that makes cultural intelligence its primary focus and core capability. It's only possible through MRN's proprietary innovation: Culture-graphics, bridging demographic data like gender or nationality with behavioral data like hobbies or consumer habits. This applied cultural intelligence allows for greater audience segmentation and understanding of the causes of cultural shifts. Rebecca utilizes these insights to create an exactingly effective and unique service. This unprecedented approach has attracted clients that include AT&T, State Farm, LinkedIn, and the NBA. Rebecca has been recognized by the LA Times' Inspirational Women Forum & Leadership Awards, and Ragan and PRDaily's Top Women in Marketing and Top Women in Communications. For two years running, the agency has been ranked Adweek's #1 Top International Agency and a certified Great Place To Work by Great Place To Work US, winning spots on Fortune Magazine’s Best Small Workplaces and Best Workplaces in Advertising lists. She remains dedicated to the professional development of young people – especially women – of color. Rebecca created MRN to be the type of environment she sought in her own professional life; a place where diversity is celebrated and empowered, where people weren't given just a seat at the table, but a microphone with it. Nothing gives her more pride than seeing that vision come to life.
