Character AI - "Call Center"

Objective

Character AI is pushing the limits on what AI can do, and helping remove the stigma around AI so people are more comfortable incorporating it into their lives.

Their innovative “Avatars” feature allows users to create personas for their AI, giving depth and dimension to the tool, and normalizing the AI as a collaborator or co-worker, rather than just a passive productivity tool. Using Avatars, users can learn languages from international celebrities, get advice from fictional characters, and even have historical figures settle debates.

Strategy

To launch the feature, we imagined an IRL workplace populated by these AI characters. We wanted users to envision the joy and vibrancy of an AI-enabled workplace. Our approach literally brought Character.ai’s Avatars to life by personifying them in a call center, leveraging humor to showcase common use cases for the feature.

We created a mix of character-focused vignettes as well as a longer-form commercial that brought all the characters together in a chaotic, hilarious office setting.

 

Results

The response was overwhelmingly positive with over 22 million views and comments like “I love this commercial”, “I’m wheezing, the first 5 seconds has me rolling” and “this is the type of ad I want to see. We need more ads like this plz”

This campaign encouraged people to look past the stigma of AI and get excited about all the new ways it can enrich our lives.
