The Buffalo Central Terminal, built at the height of American train travel, dominates
a portion of the Buffalo skyline with its 17-storey office tower (271 feet high).
Designed by Fellheimer & Wagner in the popular Art Deco style of the day, the
structure today, while shorn of much of its ornamentation, still has the ability
to awe. Preservation
efforts continue on this grand example of Art Deco, and the building is recognized
as a local historic landmark, as well as being listed on the National Registry
of Historic Sites. |
