Buffalo State College Performing Arts Center

The Performing Arts Center (PAC), with more than 180 events and 50,000 patrons a year, is proud of the contribution it makes to the cultural vitality of Buffalo State College and Western New York.

The PAC hosts the Great Performers series, which features new and established artists from a variety of musical styles and genres, as well as Artsplorations, a series of performances for young audiences.

In addition, Buffalo State's Music Department presents several performances a semester at the PAC, including classical, ensemble, choral, and recital programs. Community groups such as the Erie County Wind Ensemble, Buffalo Opera Unlimited and the Buffalo City Ballet frequently host performances at the PAC.

February 2008

An Evening of Piano and Percussion Chamber Music

Because of its technical and logistical complexity, Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, by the Hungarian composer Bˇla Bart—k, is rarely performed. On February 7 this seminal work will be performed by assistant professor Bryan Boyce (piano), accompanist Ivan Docenko Jr. (piano), and associate professor and chair Bradley Fuster (percussion) of the Buffalo State College Music Department and Dinesh Joseph, assistant principal timpanist with the BPO. The program will also include Rachmaninoff’s enchanting Suite No. 2, Opus 17, for Two Pianos, Four Hands. Everyone is invited to attend this free concert.

Dance: Rituals In Experience

Dervish

Irish music fans who loved Altan, Solas and Danu, don’t miss this concert by Ireland’s superstars of traditional music. Cathy Jordan’s distinctive and expressive voice is backed by fiddle, mandola, flutes, guitars, accordion, harmonica, bouzouki and other instruments. Dervish’s charming lyrics of life and love, along with inspiring melodies, lift audience members from their seats. The Music Man
