a professional company, the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre promotes standards of theatrical
excellence and hones the skills of area artists through high quality performances
of new and classic American drama. The
Buffalo Ensemble Theatre's diverse core group builds bridges with other cultural
organizations; provides opportunities for local artists and playwrights; and offers
projects for career development to new and local theatre professionals. The theatre
currently offers up to seventy performances per year in new translations and contemporary
works of significance to national and world artistic heritage, as well as local
work fostered by the award-winning Area Playwrights' Performance Series. The company
is deeply committed to educational programming and the development of the region's
