We
in Western New York and Southern Ontario are blessed with an embarrassment of
architectural treasures. Concentrated within our region is a living museum of
architectural history, told through the works of masters such as Frank Lloyd Wright,
Louis Sullivan, H. H. Richardson, Daniel Burnham, McKim, Mead and White, Eliel
and Eero Saarinen, and dozens of great local designers. To add to their grandeur,
these magnificent structures are surrounded by a parks and parkway system designed
by the father of American landscape architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted. "We
not only have the priveledge of standing on the shoulders of giants, we get to
live in their houses." |
