into a world of discovery at Niagara's Other Water Wonder! Opened 38 years ago
as the first "Inland Oceanarium," the Aquarium of Niagara was the first
aquarium to display marinelife using exclusively synthetic seawater. Located
a few blocks from Niagara Falls and open year 'round, the facility houses over
1500 aquatic creatures in more than forty exhibits. From sharks to seals, from
piranhas to eels, experience sealife at see level! The collection includes a diverse
array of exotic fishes from around the world. The Aquarium is one of only 14 institutions
to house a colony of endangered Peruvian penguins. Daily
activities include sea lion demonstrations and a variety of animal feedings followed
by "Meet the Keeper." View the Niagara Gorge from the rooftop deck.
Site of the 81st "Whaling Wall", a life-size mural created in 1998 by
WYLAND, environmental marinelife artist. Gift shop offers a sea of unique treasures.
