were founded with the ideals of learning by doing. Our volunteers come from all
walks of life and participate in all aspects of theatre, whether it be set design,
costuming, stage management, acting, etc. We are very proud of our strong tradition
and are thankful for our Sustaining Members. Since
our inception we have performed at a local elementary school and just this year
have decided to move our season to the Harlem Road Community Center, where we
would be afforded more exposure and a closer tie to the community at large. The
Amherst Players announce their 2006-2007 season, including three main productions,
a childrenŐs show, a one acts festival, and an holiday improv comedy. The
2006-2007 Season begins with Perfect Wedding, directed by Bob Alonzo and written
by Robin Hawdon, from Thursday, September 28, 2006 to Saturday, October 7, 2006.
The second main production is Dark of the Moon, directed by David Hall and written
by Howard Richardson and William Berney, from Thursday, February 15, 2007 to Saturday,
February 24, 2007. The third main production is The Dining Room, directed by Kim
Dossinger and written by A.R. Gurney, from Thursday, April 12, 2007 to Saturday,
April 21, 2007. Curtain
for all productions is at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 1:30
p.m. on Saturdays. Special
presentations include Really Rosie, a childrenŐs show directed by Debra Cole and
written by Maurice Sendak and Carole King, on Saturday and Sundays, November 11
to November 19, 2006. A
holiday-themed comedy, Improv Buffet a la carte, will be held Friday, December
8 to Saturday, December 9, 2006, and the Festival of One Acts will be held Friday,
May 18 to Saturday, May 19, 2007. All
productions will be held at the Harlem Road Community Center, located at 4255
Harlem Road, just south of Main Street in Snyder, NY. Parking is free and the
